Karen Grinter, owner of Northants Pilates shares why she switched to TeamUp

Before switching to TeamUp, Karen Grinter, owner of Northants Pilates was no stranger to software. However, she didn't have the right one for her business. Follow along as she shares how the difference TeamUp made in helping her run her business the way she wanted.

We started with another company and we weren't too happy with them. So I shopped around, had a good look at all of the systems that were available, and I settled on TeamUp. Part of the reason was that the team in TeamUp are completely amazing and that's really quite important.

Why I switched from another software to TeamUp

Hello, I'm Karen from Northants Pilates, and I run the Pilates studio in Northamptonshire, and I've been teaching for 23 years. So in all of that time, we've gone from bits of paper and checks and people trusting cash in your hand to an online banking system. We started with another company and we weren't too happy with them. So I shopped around, had a good look at all of the systems that were available, and I settled on TeamUp. Part of the reason was that the team in TeamUp are completely amazing and that's really quite important. In terms of sort of what I do as a Pilates teacher, I want to do the best I can do for my clients and all of the teachers that work with me have the same kind of attitude. So anything that we then integrate into our business, we really want to, you know have the same commitment to it as we have to running our business. And personally, that's what I think you get with TeamUp.

They are amazing at sort of fixing stuff and sorting out, they're sort of our I.T. department with so many more skills that I've got and nothing is too much trouble. And I have to say, you know, we are now coming into year two of the pandemic. And when we sort of went into it last year, we had three venues with face to face classes and about 400 people. And overnight we had to turn that around to an online business to be able to survive. And not only have we been able to survive, but we really thrived thanks to all of the work that we put in our end, and TeamUp put in theirs to just make that transition as easy as it could be. I have no hesitation in saying give them a go.

Having an online booking system and a monthly direct debit just makes life so much easier. One, you have that regular monthly income. So you kind of know what's coming in a set of things coming in batches. And two, they make it really simple for you to set it all up. So it does make life a whole lot easier. And we moved 400 people that were paid in various different methods, even to a monthly direct debit, which was a massive thing to have to do. But it worked brilliantly well. And now we have a regular income. We know where we are. And the clients are much happier because they have a lot to dust off their chequebook every so sort of six times a year to pay for their classes.

This is quite a scary time to be running a fitness business and we have to get through it, but we have not only survived all of this so far, but we've also actually thrived with this and no small part to all of the people at TeamUp and everything that they've managed to do to help us keep going and keep our clients really happy. I hope this has been a helpful review of TeamUp. I wouldn't say I'm biased because I really really like them clearly, but I know that you'll get a really good amount of help from them. And there's no stone that will be left unturned in helping you see whether it would be a good fit for your business. And I really hope that it will be.
